The client
Sara Tirabassi is an Italian translator specialising in life sciences. With a background in physics, she regularly translates complex scientific material into Italian for clients in English-speaking countries. She also works with clients in non-English speaking countries who use English for professional communication.
The mission
Sara needed an English version of her website to showcase her skills to potential clients. But she wanted her website to do more than just "work" in English — it needed to feel natural to both US and UK audiences, and reflect her authoritative but approachable style. For this reason, she opted for transcreation — a blend of translation and creative copywriting.
The project
After getting to know Sara, I got to work. The project involved:
Refining the tone of voice so that it captured her approachable, friendly personality and gave clients a taste of what they could expect when they worked with her.
Creating multiple versions of the more creative elements, such as headings, which gave Sara the opportunity to choose her favourite option or to try out different versions in the future.
Carrying out light keyword research and incorporating relevant keywords into the copy on the main website pages to make it easier for potential clients to find Sara’s services.
I also spotted some opportunities for adding value-led copy where we could make the benefits of working with Sara even clearer..
